Head of Software Engineering (Hands on)

My client is looking for head of software engineering to join their digital product team on a contract basis.

This will suit someone who has experience of building and scaling teams from 0-1 sitting within a product engineering team.

Whilst the team is being built this person needs to be hands‑on.

Experience

  • Building and managing the following functions with software engineering: Front end, back end, integrations, mobile engineering.
  • Technology stack: Kotlin multi‑platform (KMP), React, Next JS, C#, . NET, Azure Cloud and API / event‑driven patterns.
  • You will be required to be a strong senior individual contributor.
  • Building teams from ground up
  • Good with documentation and communication skills.
  • Managing third party suppliers.
  • Managing and dealing with stakeholders.

This will be a three‑month, day rate contract inside IR35 via umbrella, you will be required to attend the office three days a week based in central London. Day rate is negotiable.
