Role Purpose:
We are looking for an Accounts & Tax Senior / Semi Senior to support partners with accounts preparation, tax compliance and audit work for a varied portfolio of owner managed businesses and individuals within our clients accountancy firm. You will be studying towards ACA/ACCA or newly qualified, with a clear path to progression.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare year end accounts for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies
- Prepare corporation tax computations and CT600s
- Prepare personal tax returns
- Prepare and submit VAT returns
- Assist with bookkeeping and management accounts where required
- Support audit assignments
- Liaise with clients and HMRC, handling routine queries and inspections
- Maintain accurate working papers and files
- Support and mentor junior team members as experience grows
Key Skills/Attributes:
- ACA/ACCA studied or newly qualified
- Strong knowledge of UK accounting standards and tax basics
- Confident preparing statutory accounts from client software and prime records
- Experience with Xero, Sage, QuickBooks
- Good Excel skills
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage deadlines
- Confident, professional client communication skills
