The purpose of the School Liaison & Marketing Officer role is to build strong connections with local schools, colleges and sixth forms by organising fun and engaging activities, and help promote courses to support student recruitment. You will work with the other internal teams to deliver creative and high-quality events and promotions.
Key Duties:
- Build and maintain great relationships with local schools, colleges and sixth forms to create opportunities to connect with students and offer helpful info, advice and guidance.
- Spread the word about the courses, services and what makes this setting special to students, their parents and school staff.
- Be a positive ambassador, representing values and ethos in everything you do.
- Create clear, tailored communications for schools at key times in the academic year, making sure messages are consistent and professional.
- Plan, coordinate and take part in engagement events like post-16 info evenings, careers fairs, taster days, exhibitions, presentations and assemblies.
- Help out at events such as taster days, open days, apprenticeship awards and parents evenings.
- Give presentations at school assemblies and events to raise awareness.
- Work closely with the School Engagement Manager, curriculum teams and marketing to put together fun and informative events and materials for future students.
- Coordinate with staff attending events to make sure everything runs smoothly and key information is shared clearly.
- Support the wider team in running and coordinating a range of events, including community events, open days, award ceremonies, exhibitions and the Festival of Achievement.
- Create and share a range of communications with local schools.
- Plan and send out key messages during important times in the school year.
- Use social media and digital platforms to promote engagement activities, making sure everything follows GDPR guidelines.
- Maintain accurate records and tracking documents for the events calendar and CRM systems where required.
- Contribute to monthly, quarterly and annual reporting on engagement and recruitment activities.
- Evaluate and review activities performance and impact with recommendations and implementing them in future activities.
Key Skills/Experience Required:
- A good standard of education.
- Experience in a similar role.
- Experience of representing an organisation to the public and or speaking to promote a service/product to the public.
- Experience of event or project management.
- Driving license and own vehicle, as travel between two sites is required.
- Good basic knowledge of IT packages.
- A friendly and welcoming nature.
- The ability to work independently and as a team.
