The Opportunity
We are recruiting on behalf of an established and well-respected legal practice, looking to recruit an experienced Conveyancing Fee Earner to join its busy Residential Conveyancing team on a permanent basis. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with solid conveyancing experience who is confident managing their own caseload within a fast-paced environment. Ideally, you will have around 2-4 years' PQE or equivalent relevant experience and be able to take ownership of matters with minimal supervision. Full training will be provided on the firm's internal systems and procedures; however, previous experience working as a Conveyancing Fee Earner is essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing your own caseload of residential property matters from initial instruction through to completion and post-completion
- Handling residential sales and purchases
- Preparing and submitting SDLT returns to HMRC
- Managing registration of title with HM Land Registry
- Working with minimal supervision while liaising with the Head of Department when required
- Ensuring files are managed in accordance with internal procedures and relevant SRA requirements
- Maintaining compliance with CQS standards, the Conveyancing Protocol and Core Practice Management Standards
- Recognising and appropriately managing risks relating to money laundering, mortgage fraud and cybercrime
- Providing clients with clear, professional and timely updates throughout their transaction
- Ensuring matters progress efficiently while maintaining a high standard of accuracy and client care
The department handles a broad range of residential property transactions, including sales, purchases, probate sales, transfers of equity, remortgages and equity release.
About You
The successful candidate will:
- Have previous experience working as a Conveyancing Fee Earner
- Ideally have approximately 2-4 years' PQE or equivalent experience
- Have experience working within a busy, fast-moving Conveyancing department
- Be confident handling residential conveyancing matters independently
- Have excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage competing deadlines
- Demonstrate strong attention to detail and a thorough understanding of compliance requirements
- Have excellent communication and client care skills
- Be proactive, dependable and comfortable taking responsibility for their own workload
- Preferably hold a full UK driving licence and have access to their own transport due to the office location
