Overview: Reporting to the Manufacturing Engineering Supervisor, the Electronics Engineer will be required to be part of the Electrical department which will include various tasks carrying out tests on the test rig as and when required. This role needs both theoretical and practical experience working with electronic products. The Electronics Engineer will also be creating circuits from scratch and using equipment and tools such as resistors, capacitors, transistors, integrated circuit chips, connectors, breadboards and soldering irons.
Duties:
- Create innovative electronic designs that add value to existing products or provide a solution to customer problems
- Computer design skills and proficiency using circuit design programs such as Eagle or Atmel Studio
- Theoretical and technical knowledge of electronics and electrical interfaces – such as Can open – Ethernet – Modbus
- Create accurate and complex circuit-board plans
- Communicate technical data and complex electrical designs in an easy-to-understand format
- Write software and make changes to suit customers' requirements
- Knowledge of existing hardware and software products, to operate on laptops / mobile phone software
Key Skills/Experience Required:
- Two or more years working at Technician Level or above

- Strong fundamental Skills in Electronics Engineering
- Knowledge of Subsea operations and controls would be a distinct benefit
- Higher grades in science, maths and technical subjects at GCSE and A-level are essential
- Degree in related subjects such as computer engineering, physics or mechanical engineering with electronics engineering as optional subjects
- Recognised qualifications from the Institution of Engineering and Technology
