The Company

Morgan Motor Company has been handcrafting sports cars since 1909 and is one of the world’s pre-eminent coachbuilders. Pioneering its unique blend of traditional craftsmanship and modern technology, every Morgan is handmade to order.

The historic home of Morgan is at Pickersleigh Road in Malvern Link, Worcestershire. This is the only place in the world where Morgan cars are built. Steeped in history, the hallowed red brick buildings are home to one of the most unique automotive production facilities in the world.

Morgan sports cars are hand crafted using three core elements: ash, aluminium, and leather. Every car is entirely unique, built to the highest standards by passionate craftsmen and women, whose skills are handed down through generations and perfected over a lifetime, bringing together heritage, innovation, and cutting-edge technology.

The role

We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Mechanical Fitter to join our Chassis Department, playing a key role in bringing our handcrafted vehicles to life. You’ll be responsible for accurately fitting and assembling essential mechanical components to create complete rolling chassis, ensuring every build meets our high standards of quality, precision and craftsmanship.

Working both independently and collaboratively within a supportive team, you’ll take pride in your workmanship, follow build specifications and contribute to the production of vehicles that deliver the distinctive Morgan driving experience our customers know and love.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out post-paint assembly and build activities to the required quality standards, ensuring vehicles meet Morgan’s exacting finish and customer expectations.
  • Assemble and fit vehicle components, trim and associated parts in line with build specifications and work instructions.
  • Inspect painted surfaces and components throughout the build process, identifying and reporting any defects, damage or quality concerns.
  • Handle painted components and finished surfaces with care to prevent damage and maintain the highest standards of presentation.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues across Paint, Production and Quality to ensure a smooth and efficient build process.
  • Follow established build procedures, health and safety requirements, and quality control processes at all times.
  • Identify and communicate build issues, discrepancies or opportunities for improvement to the relevant team members.
  • Maintain a clean, organised and safe working environment, ensuring tools and equipment are used and stored correctly.
  • Work flexibly across production functions as required to support changing priorities, build schedules and customer demand.
  • Take pride in workmanship, demonstrating strong attention to detail and a commitment to delivering an exceptional finished product.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, sharing ideas and supporting the development of skills and best practice across the team.
  • Support the delivery of Morgan’s distinctive customer experience by ensuring every vehicle reflects the quality, craftsmanship and attention to detail expected of the brand.

Our production environment is varied and fast-paced, so flexibility and a willingness to learn are essential. You’ll be comfortable working across different production functions and teams, adapting to changing priorities and supporting colleagues to ensure we meet customer demand. You’ll take pride in sharing knowledge, developing your own skills and helping those around you succeed. With a collaborative approach, an eye for quality and a proactive, forward-thinking mindset, you’ll look for ways to improve how we work, build strong working relationships and go the extra mile to deliver exceptional results. Above all, you’ll bring enthusiasm, individuality and a genuine passion for what you do, helping us create the unique Morgan experience and deliver the driving joy our customers know and love.

We are committed to fostering an inclusive and diverse workplace where all individuals feel valued and respected. The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong commitment to inclusion, ensuring that their actions, communication, and decision-making reflect an appreciation for diverse perspectives. They will actively contribute to creating a welcoming environment for colleagues of all backgrounds, abilities, and experiences, and promote equality in both internal and external interactions. A proactive approach to addressing potential barriers to inclusion and embracing a culture of openness and collaboration is essential for this role.

USE OF AI:

We recognise that AI is now a widely used and valuable tool, and we are happy for applicants to use it to support their success. We simply ask that it is used thoughtfully to help develop and enhance your ideas, rather than do all the work for you. Your application should remain a true reflection of you, your experiences and your personality, so please avoid using AI to exaggerate or embellish beyond the facts, or to the extent that your own natural voice and authentic self are lost.
