Tax – Finance Accountant – Financial Services
A great opportunity has risen for a qualified accountant with a grounding in corporate tax and/or VAT to join the in-house finance team of a privately owned UK financial services business with turnover of c£250m.
The need has been identified for a dedicated tax specialist to manage the group’s UK tax compliance requirements – 3 legal entities requiring annual CT return and a quarterly VAT return – working from within the Group’s Financial Control team. At present, the business operations are entirely UK based and the tax responsibilities above will likely take around 60% of the successful applicant’s time. There would also be opportunities to get involved in a wider finance remit working alongside the Finance Manager and Head of Financial Control.
The role would suit a tax specialist (ACA / ACCA / CTA) with 5+ years’ experience who has trained in a Top 30 firm and is looking for a first move in-house. This role will allow someone to broaden their skill set outside of tax and potentially provide a good platform to transition into finance longer term. However, with further growth and private equity investment imminent, the tax element of this role is likely to grow over time, and so there is also scope for the role to develop into a pure tax remit. The role might also suit someone who is already working in an in-house tax role but is keen to diversify their experience in an SME / mid-cap environment.
The role could also suit a Financial Accountant / Management Accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA) with hands-on tax compliance experience who is conversely looking to further specialise down the tax career path.
Please do get in contact if this role sounds of interest and you would like to discuss.
