This is an excellent opportunity to join a leading and high performing Tax Disputes Team for a Top 30 Accountancy firm. If you’re passionate about defending your clients subject to a tax investigation or needing to make a disclosure to HMRC, then you could fit right in!

As a Tax Disputes Manager , you’ll support the Tax Disputes Director and wider team on a wide range of issues, and start managing your own portfolio of cases. You’ll help individuals and businesses navigate often difficult and stressful situations with the aim of resolving cases on the best possible terms with HMRC. As part of the role you will be responsible for:

  1. Confidently manages a portfolio of TDD cases at all stages from client onboarding through to settlement.
  2. Producing letters and reports to HMRC, including all computational aspects of the report, with support from the TDD Director.
  3. Managing client relationships and providing relevant quotes to clients.
  4. Mentoring and leading junior team members, fostering a supportive and collaborative culture.
  5. Assisting in the production of technical material and/or marketing initiatives such as writing articles, blogs and updating the website.
  6. Building good working relationships with internal and external colleagues, maximising cross-selling opportunities.
  7. Keeping up-to-date with developments in all relevant technical areas and the general economic climate.

Your experience:

  1. Relevant UK tax dispute experience.
  2. Dealing with senior HMRC investigators and management.
  3. Self-motivated and able to apply relevant skills to new scenarios.
  4. Ideally you will be a seasoned tax professional (ACA, ACCA, CIOT or equivalent) or be an ex-HM Inspector of Taxes.
  5. Be able to meet deadlines, multi-task and work under pressure with accuracy and focus.
