We’re partnering with one of the world’s most recognised consumer technology brands to find a Puzzles Contractor to lead the editorial programming and publication of online puzzles content across the UK and Australia. We’re looking for someone with a strong background in crossword editing, puzzle construction, and word games, combined with excellent editorial instincts and a passion for audience engagement.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Shape and manage the puzzles content strategy for UK and Australian audiences, creating a distinctive editorial voice for each market.
  • Own the daily publishing calendar — including puzzle curation, scheduling, launches, and user notifications.
  • Collaborate with editorial, product, design, and engineering teams across the UK, Australia, and US.
  • Maintain high editorial standards while aligning local programming with wider global strategy.
  • Work closely with external puzzle and content partners, providing editorial guidance and feedback.
  • Monitor performance, identify issues, and use analytics to optimise engagement and improve the user experience.

What We’re Looking for:

  • Proven experience editing and/or constructing crossword puzzles and word games for UK and Australian audiences.
  • Experience running or contributing to a crossword or puzzles programme within a media, publishing, or digital content environment.
  • Strong editorial judgment with excellent awareness of culture, trends, and audience interests.
  • Highly organised with the ability to manage fast-paced daily publishing workflows.
  • Experience using CMS and digital publishing platforms is highly desirable.
