I am currently working with a Northamptonshire based business that is seeking a BI / MI Lead to take full ownership of our management information delivery and their Qlik environment. This is a hands-on technical leadership role responsible for ensuring that all data outputs are reliable, consistent, and strategically valuable for senior-level decision-making.
Core Responsibilities
- Qlik Platform Ownership & Development
- Manage the day-to-day operations and ongoing development of the Qlik platform.
- Build, maintain, and optimize dashboards, reports, and complex data models.
- Implement and manage access, permissions, and data security protocols.
- Establish clear QA and testing processes for all changes and new releases.
- Conduct regular audits to guarantee data accuracy and reporting consistency.
- Senior Stakeholder Management & Strategy
- Serve as the primary point of contact for all MI and BI requests across the business.
- Work directly with senior stakeholders to clarify requirements and translate business questions into technical solutions.
- Produce and present high-level reporting for the board and senior leadership team.
- Maintain a structured BI roadmap, managing priorities and communicating timelines clearly.
- Team Coaching & Quality Oversight
- Provide daily technical and analytical support to the Business Analytics Manager.
- Review all team outputs for quality, consistency, and accuracy before they are released.
- Act as the technical escalation point for complex data issues or reporting challenges.
- Promote best practices in BI development and data usage across the team.
- Performance Insight & Client MI
- Analyse data to identify trends, risks, and underperformance across the business.
- Support budget visibility and forecasting, highlighting variances and performance drivers.
- Deliver monthly Client MI in collaboration with the Business Analytics Manager to ensure standards are met.
Essential requirements
- Technical Expertise: Advanced experience in building, maintaining, and developing within a Qlik environment.
- Leadership: Proven ability to coach staff and oversee the quality of technical outputs for a small team.
- Communication: Significant experience working with senior-level stakeholders and the board to present insights without unnecessary complexity.
- Organisation: Ability to manage a structured roadmap and prioritize competing requests in a fast-paced environment.
