We are seeking a temporary Marketing & Business Development Assistant to support a busy professional services marketing team. Reporting to the Marketing and Business Development Manager, this position offers valuable exposure to a corporate environment and would suit someone interested in developing a career in marketing, communications, business development, or professional services.

The successful candidate will provide administrative and operational support across a range of marketing and business development activities. Responsibilities will vary according to business priorities, offering the opportunity to gain experience in communications, event coordination, research, data management, and stakeholder engagement.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with the preparation and submission of industry rankings, awards, and directory entries.
  • Draft, edit, proofread, and format correspondence, presentations, and other business documents.
  • Organise meeting agendas and record key discussion points and actions.
  • Support the planning and delivery of internal and external events, including preparing attendee materials and promotional items.
  • Attend events where required to assist with registrations and guest welcome activities.
  • Maintain and update contact databases and client information records.
  • Coordinate and contribute to the production of regular internal and external communications, including newsletters.
  • Assist with scheduling meetings and coordinating diaries across teams.
  • Manage calendars and administrative requirements for the marketing and business development function.
  • Arrange meeting rooms and oversee logistical requirements for meetings.
  • Research and recommend suitable venues for events and networking activities.
  • Provide administrative support for employee engagement and internal event initiatives.
  • Assist in creating and scheduling content for social media platforms.
  • Keep marketing resources and internal information systems up to date.
  • Monitor and report on website engagement, event attendance, and marketing campaign performance.
  • Conduct market and competitor research to support business development activities.
  • Provide general administrative and project support to the marketing team as required.
Candidate Profile

We are looking for someone who demonstrates:

  • Strong organisational and administrative skills.
  • The ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a professional approach when dealing with colleagues and external contacts.
  • High levels of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • The ability to work independently while contributing positively to a team.
  • A proactive attitude and willingness to take initiative.
  • GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Mathematics at grades A–C / 4–9.
