Contract (Initial 6 Months, high extension potential) | Β£500-600pd inside IR35

We are seeking an experienced Senior Software Engineer to join a fast-paced, high-growth technology division focused on third-party ticketing, integrations and high-availability booking systems. This contract balances greenfield pipeline engineering with the modernisation of legacy cloud infrastructure. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to lead major cloud migration efforts while designing robust, highly scalable backend systems.

Key Responsibilities & Deliverables

Over the initial 6 month contract, you will focus on driving primary delivery milestones:

- Cloud Migration (On-Prem to AWS): Transitioning existing core services over to AWS with an emphasis on high availability, fault tolerance, webhooks and third-party API connectivity.
/n
- Legacy Decommissioning & Pipeline Architecture: Eliminating legacy system dependencies by building brand-new, scalable product import pipelines from scratch.
/n
- Quality & AI Workflows: Building automated test frameworks and embedding modern AI-assisted tools for data transformation and streamlined development workflows.

Key Requirements
/n

- AWS & Infrastructure: Deep expertise in AWS cloud environments (hands-on familiarity with Kubernetes or serverless architecture is a major plus).
/n
- Systems Design & Architecture: Proven capability in designing resilient, distributed backend architectures (Java or general backend engineering background).
/n
- Quality & Testing: Strong track record of writing clean, highly testable production code and establishing automated test frameworks.
/n
- Modern Integration Experience: Practical knowledge of building and managing webhooks, REST APIs, and external third-party data integrations.
/n
- Agile Collaboration: High operational awareness, strong engagement with service health metrics, and a proactive approach to interrogating requirements rather than relying on assumptions.
