Top 20 accounting firm based in central London are seeking to expand their well-established technical team due to growth. Their audit clients are varied and range from Listed entities to SMEs. The purpose of the role is to support high quality audit service delivery by providing technical advice and support to audit engagement teams. There will also be the opportunity to tailor certain aspects of the role to suit your own areas of strength and interest.
Main Responsibilities
- As a member of the Technical team, you will have an important role in providing technical advice and support to auditors across the spectrum of clients and sectors which they serve.
- Your role will include providing advice to audit teams regarding audit methodology, auditing standards compliance, Companies Act and similar requirements, and financial reporting standards (e.g. FRS102, IFRS).
- As part of the wider team you will work with colleagues in developing guidance, training, audit methodology, client facing advice and other materials to support the delivery of high-quality audit services.
- Depending upon your experience or interests, you may also focus on supporting specific sectors which the firm serves.
Requirements:
- To hold a relevant and recognised accountancy qualification and have at least five years' relevant audit experience.
- Have either experience of working in a technical team environment or recent experience in external audit with a strong interest in audit/financial reporting technical matters.
- Strong technical knowledge of both auditing and financial reporting standards, allied with a practical approach to the application of standards in the real world.
- Be a highly skilled, client-focussed, communicator who has an exceptional track record of building and maintaining strong relationships.
