A Top 10 accounting firm is seeking an experienced Technical Manager to join its growing London team. This is an excellent opportunity for a technically strong audit and accounting professional looking to move into a highly visible role focused on audit quality, technical advisory, regulatory compliance and process improvement within a leading professional services environment.
Working closely with the Technical Partner and senior leadership team, the successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the firm's continued growth, quality initiatives and integration of newly acquired London offices.
Key Responsibilities- Answer technical queries across the firm relating to:
- Financial reporting
- Narrative reporting
- ISA audit methodology
- Risk management
- Ethics and independence
- Identify thematic areas requiring additional guidance, templates or training
- Support the development and delivery of initiatives to improve audit quality, efficiency and consistency across audit and accounts production processes
- Work with the Technical Partner to coordinate the external cold file review process
- Analyse thematic issues and root causes, developing remediation plans including training and coaching initiatives
- Assist in ensuring the firm remains up to date with:
- Emerging technical matters
- Regulatory developments
- UK Ethical Standards
- US independence rules
- Support the implementation of new regulatory requirements and the continual development of firm-wide policies, procedures and processes
- Assist with the integration of newly acquired London-based offices
- Work alongside the Technical Partner and Head of Audit in developing assurance and advisory service lines
- ACA or ACCA qualified
- Strong technical knowledge of UK GAAP, IFRS and ISA audit methodology
- Experience within a Top 10, mid-tier or Big 4 accounting firm environment
- Strong understanding of audit quality, compliance and risk management processes
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Experience delivering technical training or guidance would be advantageous
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
