A leading Top 10 accountancy and advisory firm is seeking a Private Client Tax Director to join its growing team in Leeds. This team advises a diverse client base including high-net-worth individuals, entrepreneurs, trusts, private equity executives and family-owned businesses, supporting them with complex tax planning, compliance and long-term wealth structuring. The role offers the opportunity to act as a trusted adviser to clients with sophisticated tax affairs while playing a key role in leading and developing a high-performing team.
The Role
As a Director, you will take responsibility for leading client relationships, delivering high-quality tax advice and supporting the continued growth of the private client practice. You will work closely with Partners and senior leadership while helping shape the strategic direction of the team.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing a portfolio of high-net-worth individuals, families and entrepreneurial clients, acting as a trusted adviser on complex tax matters
- Providing strategic advice across areas such as succession planning, wealth structuring, and business restructuring
- Overseeing the delivery of both advisory and compliance work, ensuring technical excellence and high standards of client service
- Leading large or complex client engagements and coordinating multidisciplinary teams where required
- Maintaining and developing strong client relationships while identifying opportunities to expand existing engagements
- Managing WIP, billing and financial performance across your portfolio
- Supporting business development initiatives and contributing to the continued growth of the private client practice
- Coaching and mentoring junior team members, helping to develop the next generation of leaders within the team
Your Experience
The successful candidate will typically demonstrate:
- ACA / CTA qualified (or equivalent)
- Strong experience advising high-net-worth individuals, entrepreneurs, and private client structures such as trusts and family investment vehicles
- Proven experience managing complex client portfolios and delivering both advisory and compliance services
- Strong leadership and people management skills, with experience mentoring junior staff
- Excellent relationship-building and communication skills
- Commercial awareness and the ability to identify new business opportunities
- The ability to lead projects and manage multiple engagements simultaneously
