Generalist

Fixed term contract, Bristol, Salary 45k

Hybrid – 3 days in the office

My client is a growing and progressive organisation based in Bristol. It is a true generalist role and will encompass a wide range of HR-related duties, including employee relations, recruitment, onboarding, performance management, policy implementation, and compliance with employment laws and regulations. The ideal candidate will be a proactive problem-solver with a strong understanding of HR best practices.

This is a fixed term position which has high potential to become permanent, if you are a strong communicator with extensive range of HR skills, in particular ER, D&I and L&D then you would love this role. You will need to be organised, curious and self managing. You will report to the BEST HR Director – who is not a micro manager, your role will be to handle and prioritize your work load on a day to day basis.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Administer and coordinate HR policies, procedures, and programs
  • Handle day-to-day employee relations matters, providing support and resolving issues
  • Assist in the recruitment process, including job postings, interviewing, and onboarding
  • Conduct new hire orientation and ensure smooth integration into the company
  • Maintain employee records in compliance with company policies and legal requirements
  • Support performance management processes, including goal-setting and evaluations
  • Manage leaves of absence, benefits enrollment, and other employee programs
  • Coordinate employee engagement initiatives and internal events
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of HR projects and initiatives

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field
  • 2+ years of experience in an HR Generalist or similar HR role
  • Knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and HRIS systems (e.g., ADP, Workday, BambooHR)
