We are partnering with a rapidly scaling, private equity–backed services group to appoint a Group IT Director to lead technology across a complex, operational, multi-site environment. This is a senior leadership role with full accountability for technology strategy and delivery. You will ensure systems, data, infrastructure and digital tools actively support growth — integrating acquisitions, maintaining secure and resilient operations, and driving efficiency through automation and insight.
Working closely with the CEO and Board, you will lead a lean internal IT function and a small number of specialist partners. The role requires a leader who is strategic in outlook but hands-on in execution, comfortable staying close to system integrations, core platforms and operational technology. The role will be based across London and Nottinghamshire, with an expectation of being onsite three days per week. There is no fixed weekly pattern — flexibility and willingness to move between locations based on business need is essential; this is not a remote role and visibility is essential.
Compensation: £125,000 + performance bonus + LTIP
Key focus areas include:
- Ownership and scaling of core systems (Salesforce, Dynamics / Business Central, field operations technology)
- IT leadership across a live, multi-site operational environment
- Cybersecurity, infrastructure resilience and service continuity
- Technology due diligence and integration for acquisitions
- Driving standardisation, automation and data-led decision making
This role will suit you if you have:
- Held a senior IT leadership role (IT Director / Head of IT / similar)
- Experience in operational, services, logistics or field-based businesses
- Worked in PE-backed or high-growth environments
- Personally led M&A integrations and system consolidation
- A pragmatic, commercially minded and delivery-focused approach
- Bring integrity, energy and a collaborative leadership style, and thrive in a business that values pace, accountability and continuous improvement.
What this role is not:
- This is not a purely strategic or advisory CIO role — the business needs a leader who stays close to delivery and execution.
- This is not a product, SaaS or digital-only environment; experience is required in live, operational, multi-site businesses.
- This is not a heavily resourced corporate IT function — the role requires comfort working with lean teams and external partners.
- This is not suited to someone who prefers to delegate all technical detail; hands-on credibility and technical depth are essential.
- This is not a slow-moving, highly political enterprise environment — pace, pragmatism and decision-making matter.
Direct CEO and Board engagement. Clear mandate to modernise and scale technology. High-impact role during a critical growth phase. Competitive six-figure package, bonus and LTIP.
If you are an IT leader who enjoys building, fixing and scaling technology in real-world operational environments, we would welcome a confidential conversation.
