Our client is seeking a highly analytical and commercially minded FP A Analyst to support financial planning, forecasting, reporting, and business decision-making across our travel operations. The successful candidate will partner with departments including Sales, Marketing, Revenue Management, Operations, and Product to provide financial insights that drive profitability, operational efficiency, and strategic growth. This role requires strong financial modeling skills, attention to detail, and the ability to translate complex data into actionable business recommendations within a fast-paced travel environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Financial Planning & Forecasting
    • Develop and maintain annual budgets, quarterly forecasts, and long-range financial plans.
    • Analyse revenue, margins, and operating expenses across travel products, destinations, and business units.
    • Support monthly reforecasting processes based on booking trends, seasonality, and market conditions.
    • Prepare scenario analyses and sensitivity models to assess business opportunities and risks.
  • Financial Analysis & Reporting
    • Produce monthly management reports, dashboards, and variance analyses.
    • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) including bookings, passenger volumes, occupancy rates, average booking value, customer acquisition costs, and profitability metrics.
    • Investigate financial performance against budget and provide explanations for significant variances.
    • Deliver actionable insights to support commercial and operational decision-making.
  • Business Partnering
    • Collaborate with department leaders to understand business drivers and financial implications of strategic initiatives.
    • Provide financial support for pricing decisions, promotional campaigns, new travel products, and expansion opportunities.
    • Assist in evaluating investments, partnerships, and business cases for new destinations or services.
    • Present financial findings and recommendations to management stakeholders.
  • Financial Modeling & Decision Support
    • Build and maintain detailed financial models for revenue forecasting, cost analysis, and strategic projects.
    • Analyse customer, destination, and product profitability.
    • Support capital expenditure planning and investment analysis.
    • Conduct ad hoc analyses to support executive decision-making.
  • Process Improvement
    • Enhance financial planning and reporting processes through automation and improved analytics.
    • Improve data accuracy, reporting efficiency, and forecasting methodologies.
    • Support implementation and optimisation of financial planning systems and business intelligence tools.

Qualifications

  • Education
    • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field.
    • Professional certifications such as CPA, CMA, ACCA, CIMA, or CFA are advantageous.
  • Experience
    • 2-5 years of experience in FP A, corporate finance, financial analysis, or related roles.
    • Experience within the travel, tourism, hospitality, airline, online travel agency (OTA), or transportation sectors is preferred.
    • Demonstrated experience with budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling.
  • Technical Skills
    • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including financial modeling and data analysis.
    • Experience with ERP systems and financial planning tools.
    • Proficiency with business intelligence and visualization tools such as Power BI or Tableau.
    • Strong understanding of financial statements and accounting principles.
    • Experience with large datasets and financial reporting systems.
  • Analytical & Interpersonal Skills
    • Strong quantitative and problem-solving abilities.
    • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
    • Ability to communicate complex financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders.
    • Strong presentation and storytelling skills using data.
