Are you an experienced Finance Assistant or Accounts Assistant looking for a varied role where you can take ownership, make a real difference and contribute to the development of a growing finance function?
We’re working with a rapidly growing, family-owned business in Bristol, who are looking to recruit a Finance Assistant to join their expanding Finance team on a permanent basis.
This is a varied position combining sales ledger, accounts receivable, credit control and financial reporting. It would suit someone who enjoys working across different areas of finance, building strong relationships and taking a proactive approach to improving processes. You’ll have the opportunity to take ownership of customer accounts, improve cash collection processes and work closely with colleagues across Finance, Sales and Customer Operations to resolve issues and ensure invoices are paid promptly.
What will you be doing?
Sales Ledger & Accounts Receivable
- Raising customer invoices and credit notes.
- Allocating payments and maintaining accurate customer accounts.
- Reconciling the sales ledger and resolving account queries.
Credit Control & Cash Collection
- Monitoring outstanding debt and proactively chasing overdue payments.
- Building customer relationships and resolving payment queries or disputes.
- Working with internal departments to improve cash collection.
Reporting & Process Improvement
- Producing finance and aged debt reports.
- Supporting month-end processes.
- Identifying opportunities to improve finance procedures, systems and processes.
You’ll also work closely with colleagues across the business to ensure customer queries, invoice discrepancies and payment issues are resolved efficiently.
About You
We’re looking for someone with a solid background in finance, particularly across sales ledger and credit control. You might currently be working as a Finance Assistant, Accounts Assistant, Accounts Receivable Assistant or Credit Controller with additional sales ledger responsibilities.
A continuous improvement mindset would be particularly beneficial. AAT studies, or an interest in undertaking further finance qualifications, would also be welcomed, with opportunities for ongoing development and support.
Importantly, we’re looking for someone who enjoys variety and is happy working across both sales ledger and credit control, rather than someone looking for a purely credit control-focused position.
