Morgan McKinley is supporting an award winning Financial Services business with a fantastic culture, to recruit a Credit Relationship Manager - Special Asset Management role.

The role involves managing high-risk relationships to minimise credit losses and achieve recovery for customers where possible. You will be dealing with customers where there is concern around their long term financial viability and looking to offer solutions. You will also manage credit facilities within the team, ensuring that credit can be provided at fair levels of risk and reward. Acting as a Relationship Manager, the solutions could include:

  • Restructuring existing facilities
  • Negotiating recovery
  • Looking at insolvency processes

The other focus of the role will be around credit analytics, which includes conducting reviews, analysing borrower data and reporting on loan portfolio performance.

The candidate should have proven experience in UK SME business lending and strong credit skills. An understanding of a set of accounts and EBITDA is necessary, along with experience in managing high-risk clients and overseeing recovery situations. Ideally, you will have some restructuring experience, and knowledge of risk appraisal, lending procedures and current legal practices is essential. Any exposure to underwriting commercial loans and overdrafts would also be useful but not essential. The debt level is between £100k - £20mln.

This role can effectively be based anywhere in the UK and predominantly remotely, with occasional travel (once a month) into Bristol, or potentially their London or Edinburgh office. This role could also be considered on a part-time basis.
