Morgan McKinley is looking for an experienced Transport & Logistics Planner to work for a busy organisation based in the Crawley, West Sussex area. The Transport Planner will be working on a shift basis 2pm-10pm Sun-Thurs and will be responsible for the day to day planning of the transport operation.

Salary: £35-37K

Location: Office based - Crawley

Hours: 2pm-10pm Sun-Thurs

Transport Planner duties:

  • Ensuring driver team arrive for work on time and arrange cover for absences
  • Correct utilisation of staff and vehicles using the company diary sheet/planner
  • Route all vehicles available generating revenue and solid route plans to ensure that routes are both achievable and vehicles are used to best efficiency
  • Maintaining and updating any amendments throughout the day so the information is live for all to access
  • Handle driver and customer queries
  • Analysing delivery data to ensure the relevant KPIs and revenue targets are achieved on each vehicle.
  • Arrange and oversee loading/pre-loading activity to ensure a timely despatch

Skills and experience:

  • Proven Transport or Logistics Planner experience, working in a similar role
  • Excellent operational and customer service skills
  • Good geographical knowledge of the UK
