Key Responsibilities
  • Develop a thorough understanding of a newly implemented semi-automated control process.
  • Review and investigate exceptions and transactions that are not evaluated by the control. Categorize these exceptions to identify opportunities for control enhancement.
  • Create comprehensive desktop procedures to support the transition of the control process to the BAU (Business As Usual) team.
  • Escalate thematic issues and data quality concerns to the control owner, highlighting opportunities to improve control effectiveness and reduce false positives.
  • Continuously refine desktop procedures based on insights gained from operating the control.
  • Draft business requirements for system enhancements, working closely with technology teams to implement, test, and deliver improvements.
  • Present findings and control disposition outcomes to the control lead in a clear and actionable format.
  • Support the preparation of governance metrics, reports, and presentation decks.
Knowledge, Experience & Skills
  • Proven ability to engage with key stakeholders across functions including front office (e.g., Traders, Trading Supervisors, Business Managers), Middle Office, Operations, Technology, and Risk & Control.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel (including pivot tables, lookups) and PowerPoint.
  • Capable of independently writing SQL queries to extract, analyse, and interpret large data sets.
  • Strong analytical mindset with a track record of using data to drive decision-making and deliver process improvements.
  • Experience in managing or supporting regulatory change initiatives across Markets, such as Dodd-Frank, EMIR, MiFID II/R, UMR, Reg W, or Reg K.
  • Prior experience operating 1LOD (First Line of Defence) controls with a focus on timely exception handling and investigative review.
