About Our Client
We have been retained by a disruptive, high‑growth HealthTech scale‑up that is fundamentally redefining workplace wellness and corporate healthcare. Our client's proprietary software seamlessly connects proactive health prevention, rapid clinical access, and ongoing care into a single, unified digital ecosystem. By transforming daily health signals into actionable, anonymised data intelligence, their platform enables major global employers and membership organisations to support their populations earlier and more effectively.
Operating a modern, remote‑first organizational model with an aggressive international expansion roadmap, our client is seeking a visionary Chief Technology Officer to lead their global technical strategy, secure their next‑generation infrastructure, and scale their distributed engineering organization.
The Role
Reporting directly to the CEO, the incoming CTO will own the overarching global technical vision and product architecture. This is a high‑impact, highly mobile executive role for a leader who can successfully navigate complex health data architecture across multiple international regulatory jurisdictions, while fostering a high‑performing, distributed engineering culture. While our client operates on a remote‑first basis, this role requires regular international travel. You will need the flexibility to travel to London for executive alignment, across Europe for regional rollouts, and globally to support enterprise client integrations and localized technical strategies.
Key Responsibilities
- Global Technical Strategy: Define and execute a localized yet unified long‑term architectural strategy aligned with rapid international commercial growth.
- Cross‑Border Data Infrastructure: Oversee the development of robust data pipelines that safely process, anonymise, and analyze high‑volume health signals, ensuring absolute compliance with varied international data residency laws (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA, and equivalent frameworks).
- Enterprise Ecosystem Integration: Travel globally to collaborate directly with international enterprise clients, strategic partners, and third‑party platforms to spearhead seamless API integrations and embedded infrastructure.
- Remote‑First Engineering Culture: Recruit, mentor, and inspire a world‑class, cross‑functional distributed engineering team across multiple time zones, establishing clear frameworks for remote technical excellence.
- Security & Compliance Governance: Serve as the ultimate custodian of global data privacy and security, ensuring alignment with stringent international regulations and FCA‑regulated frameworks.
What Our Client Is Looking For
- Regulated Tech Pedigree: Proven experience as a CTO or VP of Engineering within a highly regulated sector (HealthTech, MedTech, or FinTech is essential).
- International Scale Experience: A proven track record of scaling B2B2C SaaS products into international markets, deploying distributed software architectures, and navigating global data compliance.
- Mobility & Global Mindset: Fully flexible and eager to travel across London, Europe, and wider international hubs to meet with tier‑one enterprise partners and lead regional tech rollouts.
- Distributed Team Leadership: Proven success managing, scaling, and maintaining accountability within high‑performing, completely remote or distributed engineering teams.
- Data‑First Architecture Background: Deep expertise in cloud infrastructure, data engineering, and building platforms where data privacy, anonymity, and complex signal processing are paramount.
- Commercial & Strategic Acumen: An executive who looks at technology through a global business lens, capable of communicating technical concepts clearly to international investors, board members, and non‑technical stakeholders.
What’s on Offer
- Remote‑First Flexibility: The freedom to work from anywhere in the UK/Europe, supported by an established remote infrastructure.
- Global Impact: The opportunity to lead the technical evolution of a platform directly improving health outcomes for thousands of people worldwide.
- C‑Suite Autonomy: A definitive seat at the executive table to shape the company’s trajectory across international markets.
- Executive Compensation: Highly competitive base salary, comprehensive global travel provisions, executive benefits, and meaningful equity participation.
