We are currently seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Accounts Assistant to join our finance team on a temporary basis for 6 to 12 months. This role will support the day-to-day finance function, covering both accounts payable and accounts receivable tasks, as well as general accounting support. It is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to gain or broaden their experience within a supportive finance team.
Key Responsibilities
- Process supplier invoices, ensuring accurate matching, coding, and posting
- Assist with accounts payable and payment runs
- Raise sales invoices and credit notes
- Allocate customer receipts and maintain the sales ledger
- Perform bank reconciliations and resolve discrepancies
- Reconcile supplier and customer accounts
- Support month-end close activities, including accruals and reporting
- Maintain accurate financial records and filing
- Liaise with internal departments and external suppliers/customers to resolve queries
- Provide general finance and administrative support as required
Key Skills and Experience
- Previous experience in an Accounts Assistant, Accounts Payable, or Accounts Receivable role
- Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
- Good organisational and time-management skills
- Confident communication skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (ERP experience desirable)
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Reliable, flexible, and proactive approach
