We’re supporting a Data Consultancy who is seeking an experienced Technical Business Analyst to support the delivery of large-scale, Azure-based data initiatives. This role sits within multi-disciplinary delivery teams focused on modern data platforms, analytics, and AI-enabled solutions. The successful candidate will be a data-focused Technical BA, capable of operating between business stakeholders and technical teams, with sufficient technical depth to engage credibly on data and platform discussions, without being hands-on at an engineering level.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary interface between business stakeholders, product owners, and technical delivery teams
  • Elicit, analyse, and document functional and non-functional requirements for data and analytics initiatives
  • Translate business needs into clear technical requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria
  • Work closely with Data Engineers, Architects, and Analytics teams across Azure data platforms
  • Support initiatives involving data ingestion, transformation, analytics, and AI-enabled use cases
  • Facilitate workshops, stakeholder interviews, and backlog refinement sessions
  • Ensure alignment between business objectives, technical solutions, and delivery outcomes
  • Support UAT planning, execution, and defect triage
  • Produce and maintain high-quality documentation including: Process flows, Data mappings, Solution and platform overviews

Required Experience & Skills

  • Proven experience working as a Technical Business Analyst on data-led programmes
  • Strong understanding of modern data platforms and data architectures
  • Hands-on experience working within Microsoft Azure environments
  • Familiarity with technologies such as Databricks & Microsoft Fabric, Data lakes, data warehouses, and analytics platforms
  • Ability to engage confidently with technical teams on: Data pipelines and ingestion patterns, Reporting and analytics use cases, AI and advanced analytics concepts (at a conceptual level)
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
  • Experience working within Agile / Scrum delivery environments
  • Ability to produce clear documentation for both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Exposure to AI / Machine Learning initiatives from a requirements or delivery perspective
  • Experience working in consulting or client-facing delivery environments
  • Familiarity with data governance, data quality, and security considerations
