We are working with a specialist engineering business that is looking to bring a highly skilled Electrical Design Engineer to join their team. In this role, you will lead the design and development of high-integrity electronic enclosures and control systems destined for critical maritime platforms and naval vessels. You will be responsible for the full design lifecycle, ensuring all solutions meet the stringent "fit-for-purpose" requirements of the defense sector, including shock, vibration, and EMC compliance.
- System Design: Lead the electrical design of complex enclosures, power distribution units, and control systems for naval applications.
- Lifecycle Management: Manage projects from initial concept through to prototype, testing, and production handover.
- Collaboration: Work closely with mechanical engineers and production teams to ensure seamless integration of electrical components into ruggedised enclosures.
- Mentorship: Provide technical guidance and peer reviews for junior members of the engineering team.
Proven experience in Electrical Design within a high-integrity environment (Defense, Aerospace, Nuclear, or Rail). Proficiency in 2D/3D CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN, or SolidWorks Electrical). Degree (BEng/MEng) in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, or a related discipline.
