A leading global financial institution is hiring a Subject Matter Expert (SME) to support its growing Equity Derivative Middle Office. The role covers the Structured Notes business and Corporate Actions, which offers Equity Linked and Cross Asset Derivative payoffs to a global investor base. You will manage multiple Front-to-Back (F2B) trade flows alongside the Trade Capture team. The primary objective is to oversee exception management, improve client interactions, plan Corporate Action processing, and execute functional strategies. The role also involves project management and oversight of the Lifecycle programme, reporting to senior management across the Equities Business and Technology stack.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide analytical and administrative support to Front Office Sales and Trading, and coach junior staff.
- Independently validate Front Office calculations on Structured trades to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Maintain accurate position records alongside trading desk assistants and trade processing functions.
- Capture, process, and notify corporate action events in the market.
- Review and manage business Data Integrity to ensure it remains in line with expectations.
- Manage trade capture, F2B reconciliation, operational risk identification, trade confirmation, and settlement forecasts.
- Analyse transaction capture issues and execute recommended actions.
- Develop business plans, policies, and procedures to support internal and external clients.
- Monitor pre-settlement capture activities while defining and tracking KPIs and SLAs.
- Identify and drive opportunities for process improvements, client service enhancements, and cost reduction.
- Conduct discovery and due diligence to resolve complex client queries.
- Assess operational risk effectively to safeguard the firm's reputation and ensure compliance with regulations.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Key professional experience in a related Equity Derivative role.
- SME profile in specific skill sets, business areas, or derivative products preferred.
- Detailed understanding of Derivative products, including Structured Notes and their F2B processing.
- Demonstrated project management capabilities.
- Ability to work under pressure, meet tight deadlines, and adapt to a fast-paced environment.
- Consistently clear and concise written and verbal communication.
- Strong attention to detail and intermediate problem-solving skills.
- Bachelor's degree / University degree or equivalent experience.
