Our client are looking for an experienced Finance Manager to take ownership of day-to-day finance operations and support the Head of Finance in driving improvements, controls and reporting. This is a hands-on, commercial role with real breadth - ideal for someone who enjoys rolling up their sleeves while also contributing at a senior level.
What you'll be doing:
- Overseeing end-to-end finance operations
- Managing and supporting an Accounts Assistant
- Producing monthly management accounts with clear commentary (for internal and external clients)
- Preparing accruals, prepayments and similar accounting entries
- Completing bank and balance sheet reconciliations
- Preparing payment runs and VAT returns (in-house and client-based)
- Supporting budgeting, variance analysis and ad-hoc projects
- Providing cover across the team when needed
What we're looking for:
- Strong all-round finance experience with excellent attention to detail
- Experience of producing end to end management accounts within an SME is essential
- Confident communicator who enjoys working in a small team
- Organised, proactive and comfortable managing competing priorities
- Someone keen to improve processes and add value beyond the numbers
