The Opportunity

We're recruiting for an experienced Senior Accounts Payable Specialist to join a growing finance team based in North Bristol. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong end-to-end purchase ledger experience who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and wants to play a key role in driving an efficient AP function.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the end-to-end accounts payable process.
  • Process high volumes of supplier invoices accurately and efficiently.
  • Prepare and process weekly and monthly payment runs.
  • Reconcile supplier statements and resolve supplier queries.
  • Support month-end activities, including reconciliations and reporting.
  • Build strong relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and financial controls.
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes and increase efficiency.
  • Support and mentor junior members of the finance team.
  • Assist with audits and ad hoc finance projects.

About You

  • Previous experience in a Senior Accounts Payable or Purchase Ledger role.
  • Strong understanding of the end-to-end AP process.
  • Experience working with ERP/accounting systems.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
  • Confident communicator with the ability to build strong working relationships.
  • Able to manage workloads and meet deadlines in a busy environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
  • Experience supporting or mentoring junior colleagues would be advantageous.
