Morgan McKinley Northern Home Counties are proud to be representing a growing business in Northampton to recruit an Assistant Management Accountant to join their growing finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious finance professional looking to develop their management accounting experience within a fast-growing and values-led organisation. Reporting directly into the Finance Manager, the role offers a blend of month-end accounting, reporting, analysis, and business partnering responsibilities, alongside hybrid working and strong long-term progression opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation of monthly management accounts
- Support with accruals, prepayments, and journal postings
- Perform balance sheet reconciliations
- Assist with budgeting and forecasting processes
- Analyse financial performance and investigate variances
- Support cashflow reporting and financial planning
- Assist with month-end and year-end close processes
- Produce financial reports and KPI analysis for senior stakeholders
- Support process improvement initiatives across the finance function
- Liaise with operational teams across the business to provide financial support and insight
- Assist with audit preparation and statutory reporting requirements
Candidate Requirements
- Previous experience within an Assistant Management Accountant / Assistant Accountant role
- Strong understanding of month-end processes
- AAT qualified or studying ACCA/CIMA (preferred)
- Confident Excel skills and good systems experience
- Strong attention to detail and analytical mindset
- Able to work collaboratively within a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication skills with a proactive approach
