Morgan McKinley are thrilled to be working exclusively with a well–established construction and civil engineering firm that is expanding its UK finance function. They are seeking a Junior Accountant to join the team and play a key role in supporting the company's financial operations.
Responsibilities
- Record and reconcile financial transactions, ensuring all postings are accurate and up to date.
- Manage and maintain the company's Fixed Asset Register, tracking asset movements and depreciation.
- Prepare monthly and periodic financial reports, providing meaningful insights to support management decisions.
- Assist with budget planning, expense monitoring, and preparation of financial statements.
- Process payroll in line with statutory regulations and company procedures.
- Handle invoices, payments, and other accounting documentation for both accounts payable and receivable.
- Ensure all VAT, tax submissions, and related liabilities are completed accurately and on time.
Skills & Experience
- Strong finance qualification or degree (AAT preferred).
- Demonstrated experience preparing balance sheet accounts.
- Solid understanding of budgeting, financial controls, and compliance requirements.
- Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Strong analytical mindset, capable of interpreting financial information and drawing actionable conclusions.
