This exciting opportunity is ideal for a qualified accountant who thrives in a dynamic environment and is looking to take ownership of key financial processes including acquisition accounting, statutory reporting, and contract management.
The Financial Accountant will play a pivotal role in the finance team, supporting both group-level reporting and business integration activities. Reporting to the Financial Controller, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality financial outputs and supporting continuous improvement across finance operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the group audit process and statutory reporting
- Prepare consolidation entries for both management and statutory accounts
- Review and reconcile balance sheet accounts across group entities
- Manage all VAT returns and ensure compliance with FCA submissions
- Support external tax advisors and manage internal tax compliance
- Collaborate with the management accounts team to enhance reporting and analysis
- Provide meaningful financial analysis at practice/unit level
- Oversee contract management and perform annual reconciliations
- Contribute to process improvements across the wider finance team
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Fully qualified accountant (ACA or ACCA)
- Strong technical knowledge with experience in statutory accounts and consolidations
- Proven experience in either practice or industry
- Strong communication skills with the ability to work across departments
- Advanced Excel skills
- Comfortable presenting financial decisions and analysis to a range of stakeholders
