Initially reporting to the Group Chief Financial Officer, this is a senior role within the Finance function, responsible for overseeing the delivery of financial direction and reporting to the growing Wealth Planning division of the business.
The role will lead the development of best-practice operational processes within the Wealth Planning business, focusing on the effective capture, maintenance, updating, and reporting of key financial measures. With recent rapid growth and further material growth planned, the role will lead the modernisation and systemisation of these processes, working alongside senior business leaders to ensure best practice is implemented efficiently and at scale.
The role will also challenge strategic decision-making, drawing on prior experience operating within a Wealth Planning business of scale.
Role Responsibilities- Lead Finance engagement in key Wealth Planning management committees and senior management interactions.
- Ensure operational process changes within the Wealth Planning business incorporate the requirements for timely and accurate financial reporting.
- Develop a close working relationship with the CFO, ensuring transparent reporting of priorities and progress against agreed improvement targets and financial measures.
- Supervise the prioritisation and implementation of financial reporting elements of strategic change initiatives across the Wealth Planning business, working closely with Financial Control and Business Partnering teams.
- Constructively challenge senior leadership in strategic decision-making to support growth in an efficient, scalable, and well-controlled manner.
- Review material recruitment initiatives and M&A acquisitions for integration risks and opportunities, capturing value through synergies and optimised integration, including performance tracking against expectations.
- Introduce best-practice controls and reporting, leveraging experience from similar organisations.
- Coordinate multiple delivery priorities across the Finance team, enhancing methods used to collate and produce financial information.
- Recommend improvements to key Wealth Planning financial processes, including (but not limited to):
- Capture and reporting of AuA and flows from third-party platforms
- Pricing improvements that drive value and consistency
- Tracking cross-selling activity between Wealth Planning and affiliated investment management activities
- Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent) with a minimum of 10 years' post-qualification experience, including experience in the wealth planning industry
- Broad finance experience within financial services, ideally wealth planning and wealth management
- Knowledge of Xplan is useful
- Strong understanding of key financial metrics and best-practice reporting approaches
