This is an exciting opportunity to join a large, multi-entity UK business as Group Tax Manager, playing a pivotal role in managing all direct and indirect tax affairs across the organisation.
The Opportunity
As Group Tax Manager, you'll oversee the company's full tax compliance and reporting framework, ensuring all returns and filings are accurate, timely, and fully aligned with UK regulations. You'll work closely with the Finance, Legal and Treasury teams to provide strategic tax advice and support key business initiatives, from corporate transactions and regulatory reporting to process improvement and risk management. This is a hands-on, commercially focused position where your expertise will directly influence decision-making at senior level.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage all corporate, VAT, employment and customs tax compliance across a portfolio of UK entities
- Maintain robust systems, processes and controls to ensure tax accuracy and efficiency
- Act as the main point of contact for HMRC, managing the relationship proactively and resolving queries effectively
- Provide expert tax input to regulatory submissions and internal reporting
- Identify and assess tax planning opportunities, ensuring alignment with corporate policy and reputation standards
- Monitor legislative changes and communicate potential impacts across the business
- Support business projects, M&A activity and investment decisions with clear, pragmatic tax advice
About You
You're a qualified tax professional (ACA / CTA or equivalent) with strong experience in corporate tax, either in-house within a large group or from a professional services background (Big 4 experience advantageous). You're technically strong, commercially minded, and confident managing stakeholder relationships at all levels - including HMRC.
