Morgan McKinley is looking for an experienced Health & Safety Advisor to join a great company based on the outskirts of Horsham, in the Partridge Green area. This is an office based Health & Safety advisory role, working closely with the H&S Manager, maintaining practical, compliant safe systems, carrying out risk assessments, inspections and investigations.

Salary: £45K dependent on experience

Location: Partridge Green, Horsham - West Sussex area. Due to the rural location, own transport required.

Hours: 8.30-5.30 Monday to Friday

Health & Safety Advisor duties:

  • Maintain awareness of relevant UK H&S legislation and best practice
  • Conduct and develop new risk assessments
  • Assist in the development of the risk control systems
  • Carry out and review fire risk assessments for simple buildings and events
  • Complete and review risk assessments, COSHH assessments
  • Deliver and coordinate H&S inductions
  • Maintain H&S records and performance data (e.g., inspections, actions, training, incidents)
  • Manage the day to day running of the online accident and incident reporting and recording system
  • Investigate accidents and incidents and gather information from investigations carried out

Skills & Experience Required:

  • Proven experience working in a similar Health & Safety Advisor type role ideally within the Engineering or Manufacturing sector
  • Experience conducting risk assessments, COSHH assessments, inspections and incident investigations with clear written reporting
  • Experience delivering H&S inductions, toolbox talks and practical training to mixed workforces (factory and office)
