A dedicated and proactive Housekeeper/Cook is required for a warm and busy family home.

The role involves maintaining the household's cleanliness and organisation, managing laundry and ironing, preparing daily meals, and ensuring the smooth running of various household tasks.

The ideal candidate should be detail-oriented, reliable, and experienced in household management and cooking nutritious meals.

Tasks and responsibilities of the position

Ensure the house remains clean and tidy daily (deep cleaning handled by a cleaner twice per week).
Make beds, collect and tidy any dishes/glasses, and maintain neat bathrooms and toilets each morning.
Change linen (Master bedroom: weekly, Childrens rooms: every two weeks).
Change all towels and bath/WC mats weekly.
Restock toilet paper and other bathroom essentials as needed.
Empty bins, food waste, and recycling daily or as required.
Keep cupboards, wardrobes, and drawers tidy and in good order.
Manage wardrobe organisation, including seasonal sorting of children's clothing for donation or replacement.
Oversee contractors and household maintenance, assisting with access and coordination.
Organise repairs/replacements of household appliances when needed.
Unblock drains every six weeks.
Maintain and tidy the steps and front patio area.
Prepare and maintain the guest room for visitors.
Handle washing, ironing, and dry cleaning for the family.
Maintain wardrobe order and assist with clothing storage and seasonal changes.
Plan and prepare daily evening meals for the family.
Prepare lunches and snacks as required.
Research and introduce healthy meal options, purchasing necessary ingredients.
Attend cooking classes (funded by the family) and integrate new recipes.
Make fresh orange juice regularly.
Ensure pantry and refrigerator are stocked with fresh and staple ingredients.
Conduct weekly online food shopping and purchase fresh produce as needed.
Clean out the fridge weekly, disposing of expired food items.
Feed and care for the family cat, including vet visits and flea treatments.
Order pet supplies and arrange necessary treatments.
Organise pet care while the family is traveling.
Pack and unpack for family trips.
Provide babysitting services as needed.
Oversee the household and conduct deep cleaning during family travels.

Profile of the candidate sought

Prior experience as a housekeeper and/or cook in a private household.
Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to prepare healthy and varied meals.
Trustworthy, proactive, and able to work independently.
Pet-friendly and comfortable managing pet care responsibilities.
Flexibility to adjust hours occasionally as required.

Conditions of employment

Schedule: Monday – Friday, 11:00 AM – 7:00 PM (with some flexibility).
