THE OPPORTUNITY
Retained by the Founder and Beneficial Owner, Morgan Mace is conducting an executive search for a commercially sharp operating-finance co-pilot. This is a rare mandate to build and lead the holding-company infrastructure behind a highly profitable, US-focused digital D2C eCommerce CPG portfolio (health, beauty, wellness) with a clear trajectory toward a $1B+ enterprise-value outcome. Reporting directly to the Beneficial Owner—who is also based in Cyprus—you will steward financial discipline, capital allocation, and management cadence across the portfolio.
THE MANDATE: STRATEGIC CO-PILOT
Sitting above business-unit GMs, this dual COO/CFO seat moves beyond passive governance to actively drive growth, capital efficiency, and equity value:
- Capital Allocation & Governance: Own group-level P&L, capital deployment models, FP&A cadence, and performance scorecards across all portfolio assets.
- Operational Execution: Instil financial discipline, decision quality, board materials, and data room readiness for future exit/liquidity events.
- E-Commerce Economics: Protect enterprise value through deep operational command of Amazon mechanics, contribution margins, CAC/LTV dynamics, and inventory working capital.
WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE
Within 12 months, the Group will have a clear financial cadence, signed annual plans and 3-year models for every major asset, standardised data rooms, disciplined capital-allocation processes, and GMs who operate with greater clarity, autonomy, and accountability. The founder remains central for vision and category judgement; you make that direction executable, measurable, and documented.
The successful candidate will make sure every company is understood through numbers and every major decision has clear financial logic. They must be able to challenge:
- P&L performance, EBITDA, gross margin, contribution margin
- cash flow, working capital, inventory risk, demand planning
- CAC, LTV, ROAS, pricing, and channel profitability
- headcount, compensation, agency and vendor spend
- budget vs actuals and intercompany capital flows
- 12-, 24-, and 36-month financial impact
This is not bookkeeping. This is operating finance. Finance must be close to the business. It should understand Amazon performance, TikTok economics, Meta funnel math, DTC subscription quality, creative velocity, inventory turns, product margins, and the real cost of growth. The purpose is simple: GMs should not be able to defend weak economics with a beautiful story.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE
- Scale & Track Record: Proven CFO, COO/CFO, or Portfolio MD experience managing $100M+ USD revenue scale in US-focused D2C eCommerce CPG or digital aggregator environments.
- Demonstrable experience of the United States market through Amazon Marketplace, DTC websites, TikTok Shop, paid media, and other B2C channels.
- Value Creation Mindset: Institutional-grade FP&A strength paired with an entrepreneurial drive to build holding infrastructure without slowing down agile brand GMs.
- Founder Partnership: Exceptional track record partnering with strong founder-owners, translating strategic vision into underwritten, measurable execution.
- Residency: Currently UK or Western Europe-based, prepared for full-time residential relocation.
