I am recruiting for a Charity Accountant to play a pivotal role in strengthening the charity accounting of the local authority. This position is central to ensuring the financial reporting is accurate and compliant. All applicants must have relevant experience in the preparation of Charity/Trust Accounts and be fully conversant in Charity Commission regulatory requirements. The role will be for 6 months and paying up to £550 p/day.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Statement of Accounts preparation: Review and critically appraise draft accounts and produce others where required.
  • Financial review and rectification: Conduct a thorough review of existing financial records to identify and correct historical errors and inconsistencies. This includes working closely with the external firm preparing our 2025/26 accounts to ensure all data is robust and accurate.
  • Review of Accounting Records: Collaborate with our property team and an external party to conduct a full review of the accounting records. A critical part of this role is to help resolve ongoing challenges in getting accurate accounting information from the Property department for one of the Trusts.
  • Balance sheet management: Support the council review of its balance sheet.
