I am urgently seeking an Interim Reward & Benefits Manager for a Higher Education Institution based in the City of London. This role would be for an initial period of 3 to 4 months on a hybrid working basis with 3 days in the office and 2 days remote per week. The role will pay £300 to £325 per day through an umbrella company, depending upon experience and will help ensure continuity across critical reward activities while supporting delivery of the People Transformation Plan.

Working alongside the current postholder during a transition period, the successful candidate will provide specialist strategic reward leadership and support to the Chief People Officer, Chair of Remuneration Committee (RemCo), and HR Senior Leadership Team. The initial focus will include:

  • salary benchmarking and market analysis
  • executive remuneration
  • pay and grading frameworks
  • job evaluation governance
  • talent management and succession planning
  • equal pay and pay gap analysis
  • workforce affordability modelling
  • reward strategy development

The postholder will also provide informed advice and insight to senior leaders on reward-related risks, opportunities and decision-making.

The organisation would particularly welcome candidates with significant experience of reward strategy, executive pay, salary benchmarking, job evaluation, organisational design, workforce and talent planning, succession planning, remuneration committee support, reward analytics, and operating within complex governance environments. Strong stakeholder engagement skills and the ability to provide credible support and challenge to senior leaders are essential.
