We're searching for a sharp, hands‑on Interim Finance Manager to step into a pivotal 5‑month assignment within a dynamic and purpose‑driven education trust. The brief:
- Lead day‑to‑day financial management across the Trust and its academies, managing a team of 3 and reporting to the Finance Director
- Produce high‑quality monthly management accounts, analysis and commentary
- Support budgeting, forecasting and long‑term financial planning
- Manage payroll, VAT returns, statutory reporting and financial compliance
- Review ledgers, balance sheet reconciliations and ensure robust internal controls
- Guide and develop Finance Officers, bringing out their best
- Drive value‑for‑money decisions and support tendering and contract negotiations
- Contribute to governance, continuous improvement and cost‑saving initiatives
What you'll bring:
- Strong accounting knowledge and experience in management accounts, forecasting and financial reporting
- Excellent analytical, problem‑solving and communication skills
- A calm, detail‑driven, organised approach
- Confidence working with sensitive financial data and supporting non‑financial stakeholders
