A large Charity in London is seeking a Data and Insight Manager to lead the supporter data and insight strategy to strengthen their understanding of supporters and drive sustainable income growth. This is an excellent opportunity for 12 months to lead the data team and provide insight into how to implement new data technology, as well as support them whilst they go through a period of change. In the next 18 months there will begin a new CRM implementation and you will be able to help provide insight and use your experience of marketing CRM’s to support them through that journey.
Overview of the role includes:
- Develop and lead a supporter data strategy with teams across supporter engagement and fundraising that aligns with fundraising and engagement ambitions.
- Champion the use of and maintain procedures for high‑quality supporter data, automation, AI experimentation, insight and analytics to enhance decision‑making, deepen supporter understanding and drive sustainable income growth.
- Lead cross‑functional teams to design and deliver complex data and technology initiatives, ensuring effective governance, alignment with priorities, and thorough management of timelines and resources.
- Inspire, lead and develop the supporter data and insight team, which consists of four direct reports.
- Act as a strategic voice for supporter data across the organisation, advocating for ethical data practices, strengthening data literacy, and building organisational buy‑in for innovation, automation and evidence‑driven decision‑making.
- Act as the Data and Business Lead for the multi‑year CRM transformation programme, ensuring the new technology ecosystem meets supporter, fundraising and organisational needs.
- Lead all CRM supporter data management activities, ensuring data structures and processes enable high‑quality analysis, reporting and supporter engagement.
- Maintain and enhance CRM data to ensure accurate, comprehensive and actionable insight for teams across the organisation.
- Oversee the delivery and optimisation of automated supporter journeys, embedding best practice and continuous improvement.
- Drive the technological capability to deliver personalised and targeted content strategies, informed by segmentation, behavioural insight and predictive modelling, to increase engagement and conversion rates.
- Develop reporting frameworks and insight‑sharing processes, including the creation and maintenance of dashboards in Power BI, to ensure timely, accessible insight across the organisation.
Key experience required includes:
- Extensive and demonstrable experience in supporter data, database and insight roles, including management positions leading high‑performing and thriving teams.
- Experience using SQL and API back‑end technologies as well as Apteco Marketing Suite desirable.
- Experience feeding in the data design to CRM migration programmes, ensuring effective integration, configuration and administration to support fundraising and engagement.
- Experience migrating to Salesforce Marketing Cloud and Microsoft Dynamics desired.
- Experience of analysing business needs and successfully implementing database and technology driven solutions to meet them.
- Proven experience of data analysis skills in a direct response environment, as well as a good knowledge of statistical principles, excellent numeracy skills and an ability to manipulate, analyse and interpret data for presentation to key stakeholders.
- Advanced knowledge of tools such as Power BI required.
- Experience working in Charity previously is highly desirable or a similar sized Public and not for profit organisation.
