Clerk of Works / Repair Inspector

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Repair Inspector / Clerk of Works to join a respected organisation within the Social Housing sector. This role offers the chance to play a key part in delivering high-quality property services, ensuring homes are safe, well-maintained, and meet the highest standards for residents. Working closely with the Property Services leadership team, you will be responsible for overseeing reactive repairs, voids, damp and mould works, and mechanical and electrical projects. This is a varied, hands-on role that combines technical surveying expertise with contractor management, quality assurance, and resident engagement. The Role Key responsibilities will include: Conducting pre and post inspections of responsive repairs, void properties, and damp and mould works. Ensuring works are completed to the required quality standards, within budget, and in compliance with health and safety regulations. Supervising contractors and monitoring performance against contractual requirements. Managing works orders from initial diagnosis through to completion and invoice verification. Undertaking property inspections, stock condition surveys, and maintaining accurate asset and property data. Supporting the delivery of M&E works and wider property maintenance programmes. Investigating and resolving property-related complaints, delivering excellent customer outcomes. Assisting with procurement activity, contract administration, and project delivery across the property services function. Providing technical advice and guidance to colleagues and stakeholders.About You We are seeking a proactive and customer-focused property professional with experience in a Social Housing maintenance or asset management environment. You will ideally have: Experience carrying out pre and post inspections across repairs and voids programmes. Knowledge of building maintenance, property surveying, and contractor management. Experience overseeing Mechanical & Electrical (M&E) works. Experience managing damp and mould cases and associated remediation works. Strong understanding of health and safety requirements within property services. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. The ability to prioritise workloads and manage multiple projects simultaneously. Strong IT skills, including experience using housing management and asset systems. A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle for business use.What's on Offer?
