A permanent opportunity has arisen within a London Borough for a qualified accountant to join them as a principal accountant focused on regeneration and place. Reporting into the Finance Manager, you will be responsible for leading on the financial management of significant regeneration and affordable housing/mixed use capital and investment schemes including investment feasibility, sensitivity testing and risk management, monitoring and reporting. You will also be required to support the Council's development activity, including affordable housing and mixed-use schemes, from appraisal, business case to project and programme monitoring.
Responsibilities
- To prepare and evaluate robust business cases supported by rigorous financial modelling, providing technical advice and interpretation of outcomes.
- To lead and manage complex financial returns, statutory returns, grants and other reimbursement claims.
- Support strategic reviews and procurements, providing financial advice and challenge financial implications and risk.
- To contribute to the strategic financial planning, capital programme and medium term financial strategy by undertaking financial analysis, financial modelling and business analysis.
The role requires a qualified accountant with previous experience within Local Government as well as in regeneration, place or capital.
Remuneration
This is a permanent role with the requirement to be in the office 1 day a month. The salary on offer is 54,000 to 62,000.
