My Local Government client is looking for a qualified finance professional to join them as their permanent Assistant Finance Manager - Treasury. Reporting into the Senior Finance Manager, day to day you will be responsible for:
- Leading and managing treasury operations - oversee daily cashflow, investments, borrowing, and liquidity while ensuring compliance with treasury policies, regulations, and risk management frameworks.
- Providing technical treasury expertise and advice.
- Developing and monitoring financial strategies and reporting - support and maintain the Treasury Management Strategy, capital financing strategy, prudential indicators, and deliver high-quality performance reports and forecasts.
- Maintaining treasury policies and practices - oversee accounting and disclosures, liaise with auditors, and monitor compliance with statutory guidance and financial controls.
- Leading VAT and financial compliance activities - provide expert VAT advice across treasury and capital activities, ensure accurate returns, and keep the organisation updated on legislative changes.
- Managing and developing the team and wider service - line manage treasury staff, support corporate projects, drive continuous improvement, and build strong relationships with stakeholders, Members, and external partners.
- Providing financial support and analysis to other service areas, helping to drive improvements and ensure value.
