This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Chartered Building Surveyor or senior property professional looking to take the lead on the delivery of major housing maintenance, improvement and capital investment programmes. You'll lead a team of surveyors and technical specialists, oversee significant planned maintenance and capital works programmes, manage complex procurement and contract activities, and provide expert advice to senior stakeholders.
The Opportunity
Ipswich | Hybrid Working (2 Days Per Week Onsite)
Permanent | Full Time | Salary: circa Β£50,000 + Excellent Benefits
As Building Surveying Manager, you will be responsible for leading the delivery of responsive repairs, planned maintenance and major capital improvement programmes across a substantial residential property portfolio.
This is a varied and highly influential role requiring strong technical knowledge, excellent leadership skills and the ability to manage multiple high-value projects simultaneously. You will work closely with senior leadership, contractors and internal stakeholders to ensure programmes are delivered safely, efficiently and in line with quality, budget and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and develop a team of Building Surveyors and technical professionals, ensuring high standards of performance and service delivery.
Oversee major capital investment programmes, planned maintenance and responsive repairs contracts.
Manage complex building projects from feasibility and design through to completion.
Lead procurement exercises, prepare specifications and contract documentation, and manage tendering activities.
Monitor contractor performance, quality, programme delivery, health and safety compliance, and budget control.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives, reviewing processes and implementing best practice across the service.
