About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Intermediate Quantity Surveyor to join a busy construction and fit-out commercial team. This is a fast-paced, high-energy role where you’ll be expected to manage multiple projects and deliver commercial excellence from day one. You’ll support the commercial function across several live jobs (typically 5–6 at once), ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget and to the highest standard.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage commercial and cost control activities across a portfolio of fit-out/refurbishment/construction projects
- Prepare accurate cost plans, budgets and forecasts
- Produce interim valuations, assess variations and prepare final accounts
- Monitor project financial performance and report to senior management
- Coordinate subcontractor procurement, negotiation and payment certification
- Maintain strong contract administration and compliance
- Provide commercial guidance to project teams and stakeholders
Person Specification
Essential:
- Previous experience as a Quantity Surveyor within construction, fit-out or refurbishment environments
- Strong commercial awareness and numerical capability
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and multitask
- Confident communication and relationship management skills
- Self-starter mindset — able to hit the ground running
- Proficient in cost reporting and commercial software
Desirable:
- Degree or diploma in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management or related discipline
- Knowledge of JCT/NEC contracts
- Membership (or working towards) RICS/CIQS
