The Opportunity

We are seeking an ambitious and commercially driven Head of Asbestos (Surveying) to lead and grow our asbestos surveying division nationwide. This is a unique opportunity for an experienced asbestos professional, potentially from either a surveying or licensed asbestos removal background, who understands how to develop client relationships, drive revenue growth, and build a market-leading compliance offering. The successful candidate will join the senior leadership team with a clear route to Directorship and will play a pivotal role in shaping the future growth of the business. Whilst technical asbestos knowledge is essential, this is primarily a commercial leadership role. Approximately 90% of the position will focus on sales, client development, and revenue generation across an extensive portfolio of existing warm clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Commercial Growth & Sales
    • Lead the growth of the asbestos surveying division across the UK.
    • Maximise revenue opportunities from an extensive portfolio of existing clients.
    • Develop and implement sales strategies to increase market share and profitability.
    • Identify opportunities to cross-sell wider compliance services including:
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision makers across client accounts.
  • Operational Leadership
    • Take full responsibility for the division's Profit & Loss performance.
    • Manage and monitor Work In Progress (WIP) and operational efficiencies.
    • Ensure accurate pricing, tendering and commercial management of projects.
    • Work closely with delivery teams to ensure service excellence and profitability.
    • Develop operational processes that support scalable growth.
  • Strategic Leadership
    • Contribute to wider group strategy and business development initiatives.
    • Identify acquisition, partnership and expansion opportunities.
    • Support recruitment, retention and development of surveying teams as the division grows.

Candidate Profile

We are open to candidates from either:

  • Asbestos Surveying Management backgrounds; or
  • Licensed Asbestos Removal Management backgrounds

provided they possess strong commercial acumen and a proven track record of generating revenue.

Essential Experience

  • Significant experience within the asbestos industry.
  • Strong understanding of asbestos surveying and compliance requirements.
  • Demonstrable success in winning and growing client accounts.
  • Experience pricing projects and managing commercial performance.
  • P&L responsibility.
  • WIP management experience.
  • Strong negotiation and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to identify and convert cross-selling opportunities.

Desirable Experience

  • Experience operating at Director, Head of Division or Regional Director level.
  • Existing industry network and client relationships.
  • Knowledge of wider compliance services including Fire, EICR, Health & Safety and Legionella.
  • Experience leading multi-site or national operations.
