The Role
As a Fleet Planner, you will take responsibility for the effective and cost-efficient planning of vehicles, ensuring legal compliance and meeting customer requirements. This role requires a proactive and organised individual capable of managing daily operations and maintaining strong communication across multiple stakeholders.
Your Key Responsibilities:
- Plan vehicle schedules, taking into account load factors, customer opening hours, driver hours, and legal requirements.
- Manage Profit & Loss within your area of control.
- Supervise daily operations to ensure collections and deliveries are executed as planned.
- Maintain timely and effective communication with office staff, customers, subcontractors, and drivers.
- Use your initiative to make informed decisions within your remit.
- Undertake administration and commercial representation duties.
- Provide support across other areas of the business as required.
What Our Client Is Looking For:
Qualifications & Experience:
- At least 3 years of experience in haulage or freight forwarding.
- Comprehensive understanding of fleet and driver management, scheduling/planning, WTD, and tachographs.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and the ability to analyse and interpret data.
- In-depth knowledge and application of health and safety procedures.
Skills & Abilities:
- Exceptional organisational skills with the ability to complete key tasks on time.
- Strong communication and arithmetic skills.
- A team player who is also confident in working autonomously.
