About the Role
Our Client is seeking a dedicated and student-focused Student Achievement Tutor to support learners throughout their educational journey.
This rewarding role centres on improving student achievement, attendance, progression, wellbeing, and overall student experience.
Working closely with curriculum teams, support services, parents/carers, and external agencies, you will play a key role in ensuring learners are engaged, supported, and equipped to succeed both academically and personally.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging weekly group tutorials covering safeguarding, wellbeing, careers, study skills, social action, and progression topics.
- Conduct one-to-one meetings with students to set SMART targets and monitor progress.
- Manage a caseload of tutorial groups, supporting approximately 300 students.
- Monitor attendance and behaviour, implementing appropriate interventions where required.
- Identify and support students who may be at risk of non-achievement or disengagement.
- Act as a first point of contact for pastoral support and student wellbeing concerns.
- Work collaboratively with curriculum and support teams to remove barriers to learning.
- Support students with work experience, enrichment programmes, careers activities, and progression opportunities.
- Deliver student voice initiatives and contribute to learner engagement strategies.
- Support UCAS applications and personal statement development where required.
- Maintain accurate student records and engagement data using college systems.
About You
Minimum Level 2 literacy and numeracy qualifications.
Experience of working with young people.
Experience delivering group sessions and conducting one-to-one support.
Strong understanding of the challenges facing young people today.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, colleagues, and external stakeholders.
Calm, professional, and empathetic approach.
Able to work independently and manage competing priorities.
Committed to safeguarding, inclusion, and student success.
