About the Role
Our client is seeking a committed Learning Support Assistant to join their SEND team.
In this role, you will provide vital support to young people and adults with Special Educational Needs (SEN), helping them access learning, achieve academic goals, and develop independence.
Key Responsibilities
- Support learners’ educational and social development under the direction of teaching and support staff.
- Encourage independence, self‑advocacy, and development of study skills.
- Assist with assessing learner progress and contributing to person‑centred support plans.
- Provide personal care and mobility assistance where required.
- Identify and reduce barriers to learning using appropriate strategies.
- Ensure learners can access specialist equipment, support services and classroom activities.
- Liaise with parents, carers, and external professionals when needed.
- Participate in meetings and reviews to support learner development.
- Candidate Requirements
- Minimum Level 2 in Maths and English.
- Experience working in a multicultural setting and/or with SEN learners.
- Understanding of safeguarding, disability awareness and learner support needs.
- Ability to build positive working relationships with learners and staff.
- Strong communication and IT skills.
- Flexible, enthusiastic, and committed to supporting learner progress.
